A Clump Of Onyx Brushstrokes (Sold)

#42.

The sister of #34 - A Galaxy Of Swirly Onyx - that I made for my pal Ms Carpet.

The "gems" are from the same piece of Saralisa fabric that she so generously gave me.

It's a mad mad piece of fabric, man! I can get quite a few piecesThe Empress Dowager's New Jewels out of it and they will never look the same.

I love it when the print on a piece of textile tells a story (in this case, it's many tales!) and it inspires me to try to translate them onto the jewels.

On this piece, I like the minimal black and the sparse-ness that the white provides - almost like a Chinese ink painting.

I also like how the print has worked out on the ruched reverse side as well.

SOLD!
