Top Bird And Her New Jewels

Photo from Top Bird (by Mister Top Bird?)

#28 - A Galaxy Of Neon Grids - in London! On one of my oldest and dearest bloggy-pal, Top Bird.

When she received them in the mail some time back, she said she had to buy a new outfit to wear them with. And she did! This pretty white smock-y number. Look at the fine embroidery on the sleeves! I love!!!!

And she's recently written a really glowing post on her shopping blog, the cute Wee Birdy, about The Empress Dowager's New Jewels! *blush*

Thank you, Top Bird! It's a real honour to be featured on the same page as all the very cool and lust-worthy objects that I go to your blog to perv at daily. xx

Pals And Jewels

I love it when pals and customers send me photos of them wearing The Empress Dowager's New Jewels! I get pretty attached to the Jewels seeing how much time I spend making them so it's really nice to see them on their new owners in their new homes. You can view them in my photo album.

My pals "Carla", Tangerilla and The Powerpuff

My Singapore pal The Powerpuff sent me this recently (about time too!).

I made the brown suede-y #29 for her after her visit here quite a few months but the cheeky girl got our pal Carl (but we call him "Carla") to wear it in the photo instead!

Thanks, pal! And I'm smiling big cheesy ones back at you guys! xx

It's Been A While...

...since I posted photos of the jewels with their new mistresses.

And it's not because I've been slack! My pals and customers are such a lazy bunch - once they get their filthy paws on the necklaces, they go out and show them off but forget about their little promise to me. You know who you are! Don't make me name names, girls! Haha.

Anyway, here is my pal Ms Carpet wearing #34 - she put it on the moment I gave it to her last week at the pub so I quickly took a happy snap.

She has promised me a what-I-think-would-be-hilarious photo of her wearing the necklace and standing next to her lampshade made from the same fabric, holding her draft stopper (also in the same fabric). We shall see...

And this is us (me with #39) in the same pub on the same day. Wish my camera-holding hand was steadier!

Alright, got more sewing to do. Meanwhile, people who still owe me photos, you know what to do! x

Edit-to-add: Ms Carpet has posted a photo of herself with her lampshade and draft stopper here! Go now!

#11 & #15 - Together Forever!

A Clump Of Silver and Pink Tourmaline Dream have both arrived safely at their new home in Singapore. Where I used to live!

I didn't know their lovely new owner Kailuo from before. She found the blog-shop, got in touch and bought them both at one go!

Here she is, with #11. Isn't it cute that she's got a matching clutch?! I hope that that's a happy and satisfied smile.

And here she is again with #15. I like how she's wearing it a little off kilter!

Thank you, Kailuo! For keeping the two "sisters" together and for sending the photos! xx

#5 And Her New Mommy

My pal Mommy Noi-noi finally had time to take some photos of herself wearing her Clump Of Granite yesterday, after she put her youngest to bed. He likes to grab the "gems" whenever she wears them.

It's obvious that we both have a big love for white V-necks. Tee hee hee.

And stripey things! With frilly bits!

Mommy Noi-noi is a working mom but she's very lucky that she works in a creative environment where she can dress up or dress down whenever she wants.
I think #5 has gone to a good home!

A Queen And Her Empress Dowager's New Jewels

Earlier on in March, Queen Marie from The Kingdom of Style wrote about her love for green, in particular, the shade of chartreuse.

I had just completed #7 - A Delicate Cascade Of Peridot then and was looking for a good home for it. Who better to send it to than someone else who loves green as much as I do?! As a small give-back to the classy lady with exquisite (sometimes quirky - good quirky!) taste for sharing her great finds and for entertaining me on the blog that she writes with the equally-stylish Queen Michelle.

A few emails and a package later, here she is...Her Royal Highness wearing The Empress Dowager's New Jewels with her very pretty yellow and green Marni dress. I love the colours against her flaming red hair!

Thank you, again, Queen Marie! For the photos and for your Royal Seal of Approval! xxx

Edit to add: Maybe I should bribe Queen Marie to take all the product shots from now on! Click here...she has got the clean clean lighting that I so love down pat!

#2 On Its New Mistress At Last!

My dear pal Poochie sure took her own sweet time sending me these photos of herself and her Gold Band of Fiery Sapphire & Onyx Chips!

Here she is wearing #2 with one of her favourite little white dresses by Thakoon or Doo.ri for Gap, I think.

Poochie is so clever with putting things together! I like how the line of the necklace follows that of the dress (she apologises for the tan lines, though).

Further proof of her clever-ness here, clashing the prints on #2 with the stripes on her t-shirt.

I'm very happy to see #2 getting along with its new friends from Poochie's wardrobe. It will soon get another baubly friend as Poochie has just ordered another commissioned piece. Whoopeedoo!

#8's New Owner

I like photos of The Empress Dowager's New Jewels with their new owners.

It's one tiny request of mine that I hope future owners will accede to because it is really nice to know where the baubles that I've painstakenly handstitched have gone to, see their new friends and home, and the many ways that their new mistresses wear them (photos without heads are welcome too if you wish to remain anonymous).

"Paging for pals in Singapore...owners of #2, #4 and #5...I'm still waiting for you to send yours!"

Dreamer from the style blog, AusStyle, has put my pals to shame...

All photos of Dreamer from here

That's her with Random Sprinkles Of Gems around her neck - she received them yesterday and I got the photos today!

And not just one!

#8 is not exactly a CheungLik/Wear-And-Tear piece that she's wished for on her illustrated Post-it fashion wishlist but this Melbourne high-schoolgirl has a knack for turning everything she wears into cute golden-ness, including fabric "gems".

Bye Bye, Emerald Grapes!

The Bunch of Emerald Grapes, the very first piece of The Empress Dowager's New Jewels, was carefully bubble-wrapped today, ready to be delivered to its new owner Gigi (previously known as Gervy) from Gervorama.

Here she is, modelling the piece that was made with her love for green things in mind. Glad she wore her very pretty Alannah Hill cardi with the lovely neckline to our rendezvous.
